Senior Director, Health Communications

Augusta Branham serves as the Senior Director of Health Communications at Heartland Whole Health Institute. In this role, she is responsible for leading the communications strategy, planning, and implementation for health care transformation initiatives associated with the nonprofit organizations founded by Alice L. Walton.

Most recently, Branham was an Executive Communications Director at Walmart, Inc. In this role, Branham worked with the company’s Chairman, President and CEO, and the Chief People Officer, among others. Prior to joining Walmart in 2019, Branham held communications roles in city government, the transportation industry, and at Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art. She has also worked in the Walton family office.

Branham has helped organizations and executives tell compelling stories, craft thoughtful strategies, connect with audiences large and small, and increase engagement. Branham’s approach to this work is informed by a passion to create accessible messages that bring understanding to the most complex issues we face.

Branham has crafted op-eds, quotes, and speeches for Fortune, TIME, Forbes, Wall Street Journal, and CNBC, as well as audiences at Harvard, Stanford, Yale, and the World Economic Forum. She holds a BA in editorial journalism from the University of Arkansas and is a Southwest Missouri native.
