Heartland Whole Health Institute Announces Leadership Changes

Heartland Whole Health Institute is excited to announce three key leadership team updates. As the Institute team continues to grow, these changes reflect our vision for the future of making health care more accessible, affordable, and higher-quality. 

Dr. Claude Pirtle Appointed President 

Dr. Claude Pirtle has been appointed President of Heartland Whole Health Institute. Dr. Pirtle brings a wealth of experience and a strong track record of leadership, innovation, and operational excellence. His vision for the future is grounded in a deep commitment to equity, access, and quality across all areas of our work. 

As President, Dr. Pirtle will guide the Institute’s strategic direction, foster cross-sector collaboration, and ensure the Institute remains focused on delivering measurable impact.  

Dr. Sarah Bemis Named Associate Vice President, Policy & Workforce 

Dr. Sarah Bemis has been promoted to Associate Vice President of Policy & Workforce. In her previous role, Dr. Bemis played a pivotal part in shaping strategic initiatives that advanced the Institute’s workforce development goals and policy engagement. In this new position, she will lead efforts to strengthen partnerships, inform policy decisions, and drive workforce strategies that support healthier communities and a more sustainable health care system. 

Dr. Bemis’ deep understanding of the policy and workforce landscape and her collaborative approach make her a vital leader as the Institute continues to advocate for meaningful change. 

Casey Solomons Named Chief of Staff 

Casey Solomons, MBA has been appointed Chief of Staff, a role that will be central to aligning executive priorities, streamlining operations, and supporting organizational effectiveness. Casey’s ability to connect strategy with execution, along with her thoughtful leadership style, makes her uniquely suited for this position. 

In her new role, Casey will work closely with senior leadership to ensure seamless coordination across teams and initiatives, helping us stay focused, agile, and mission-driven.
