Heartland Whole Health Institute Announces Rachel Fitting as Associate Vice President of Administration

Heartland Whole Health Institute welcomes Rachel Fitting as Associate Vice President of Administration, effective June 1, 2026. Founded by philanthropist Alice Walton, the Institute works with the health care industry to simplify, streamline, and improve care by bringing the right people and groups together to increase access, improve outcomes, and reduce costs.

Fitting will drive operational excellence and organizational alignment as a strategic partner to the President, leading executive operations, Board engagement, and cross-organizational workflows. She will help translate vision into action, strengthen collaboration across teams and partners, and advance measurable impact in health care transformation.

Fitting brings nearly two decades of experience leading strategy, operations, marketing, communications, and organizational transformation initiatives for large organizations. Most recently, she served as Director of Strategic Programs and Initiatives and Chief of Staff to the Vice President of Talent at Lowe’s, where she led cross-functional strategic initiatives, organizational effectiveness, and AI-enabled transformation efforts supporting enterprise talent strategy.

Fitting is passionate about building systems, teams, and operational frameworks that help organizations execute effectively while creating more human-centered experiences for individuals, teams, and communities.

“We are pleased to welcome Rachel to our leadership team,” said Dr. Claude Pirtle, President of Heartland Whole Health Institute. “Rachel brings strategic insight, operational rigor, and a deeply human-centered approach to leadership. Her experience and partnership will help us build on our strong foundation as we continue advancing collaboration and delivering measurable impact in health care transformation.”

“I’m honored to join Heartland Whole Health Institute at such a pivotal moment for health care transformation,” Fitting said. “I look forward to partnering with the team to build the operational foundation that enables clarity, alignment, and sustained impact.”
